The Heritage of Shigaraki Ware (Shigaraki-yaki)
Each Elemense Pottery Stone Diffuser is crafted in Shigaraki, an ancient town in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, renowned as one of the country's Six Ancient Kilns (Rokkozan). Pottery production in Shigaraki dates back over 1,200 years to the 8th century, celebrated for its coarse, iron-rich local clay and centuries of refined kiln techniques.
- Artisanal Craftsmanship: Every stone is hand-sculpted by master ceramicists rather than mass-molded, ensuring slight variations in shape, texture, and subtle color tone. No two stones are identical.
- Functional Clay: Shigaraki clay is naturally porous. Left intentionally uncoated and unglazed, the stone acts as an ideal medium for passive oil absorption and slow, heat-free fragrance diffusion.
