Our Path to Sustainability

At Cotton & Washi, we believe small choices can make a big difference. That’s why we’re thoughtful about everything we do—from the fabrics we source to the packaging we send your orders in. Our aim is simple: to reduce waste, tread lighter on the planet, and offer products that you’ll feel good about using and reusing.

We know we’re on this journey together, and we’re always learning, improving, and listening. Every wrap, every note, every choice is a step towards a more mindful way of living—and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Got ideas or questions? Let's talk.

  • Thoughtful Packaging

We believe the way your order arrives should reflect the care that went into making it. That’s why all of our packaging is sourced here in the UK and chosen with the planet in mind. From FSC-approved papers to recycled and even plantable materials, every element is designed to be kind to the environment while still keeping your order safe.

By choosing packaging that can be reused, recycled, or returned to the earth, we hope to make each parcel feel like a gift for you, and for the planet too.

Be part of our little community of joy-givers and change-makers.

About Us

Cotton and Washi began as a little idea close to home. As a family, we wanted to find ways to live more sustainably, cut down on waste, and still celebrate life’s moments in a beautiful way. Inspired by our time in Tokyo and the Japanese tradition of reusing and repurposing, we decided to bring that same spirit into our everyday lives, and soon, into a business of our own.

What started as a passion for simple, meaningful swaps has grown into a small business I now run here in the UK, with my husband lending a hand from time to time. Each product is thoughtfully designed with the hope that it brings joy to your everyday rituals while being kinder to the planet.

At the heart of Cotton and Washi is a belief that even small changes matter. With every wrap, every workshop, and every community fundraiser, we’re working towards a future with less waste and more connection.

With love, Saya.
